My plants are grown outside, year around in full sun. They are tough and hardened off to the elements and ready to grow under your care! My growing zone is 8b (South Carolina). Venus flytraps are actually native to the coasts of North and South Carolina.

I bought my original DC-XL from Steve D. back in 2014 when he used to run the Flytrap ranch. Steve D. (creator of the "SD" cultivars) received the DC-XL plant from David Conner (The DC in DC-XL name) as a gift back in 2007,2008. David Conner was the original tissue propagator of the B52 clone and helped it become widely distributed and cultivated. Since then I have been propagating the DC-XL through leaf pullings or natural divisions making sure to keep it a true cultivar of what I received!
